Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC)

What is SEPAC?

The Denville Township Schools' Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) is a group of volunteer parents and guardians of students with disabilities who work with Denville Schools' administration and teachers to provide input to the Board of Education and serve as a support group by giving information to other parents in Denville. The committee is in place for parents new to special education or those who just want to know a little more about the processes of identification, evaluation, Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), inclusion and parental rights, to name a few.

How does SEPAC work?

SEPAC meetings will be scheduled during the school year. The meetings will be a mix of executive meetings (reporting meeting for SEPAC representatives and District personnel), parent information/training meetings, and parent/SEPAC input meetings. Updates and meeting information will be located on the District Website's Calendar and advertised through School Messenger emails.  SEPAC representatives are volunteering their time to assist and share their experiences within the Denville Special Education programs & services. There is no formal training for the volunteers as it is based on life experiences.

SEPAC representative emails are posted below. SEPAC representatives are advised to give general information and refer parents to the right person in the District to talk to about their concerns or questions.
